Free Grace Organizations

GES & FGA

The Grace Evangelical Society (GES) and the Free Grace Alliance (FGA) are two distinct organizations within the realm of evangelical Christianity, both of which promote a perspective known as Free Grace Theology. While they share some similarities in their theological focus, they also have certain differences in terms of their emphases and approaches.

  1. Theological Emphasis:
  • Grace Evangelical Society (GES): GES is an organization that emphasizes the message of “Free Grace” within the context of evangelical theology. They highlight the idea that salvation is received by grace through faith alone, with no requirement of ongoing works to maintain or prove one’s salvation. GES places a strong emphasis on the assurance of salvation and emphasizes that eternal life is a free gift from God.
  • Free Grace Alliance (FGA): FGA is a broader association that includes individuals and churches from a range of evangelical backgrounds who hold to Free Grace Theology. FGA seeks to promote fellowship, networking, and education among those who embrace the Free Grace perspective. It also encourages unity and cooperation among Free Grace believers, while respecting differences on non-essential theological matters.
  1. Approach and Focus:
  • GES: GES tends to focus more narrowly on theological discussions related to Free Grace Theology. Their emphasis is often on clarifying and defending the biblical basis for a grace-centered view of salvation and assurance.
  • FGA: FGA takes a broader approach, seeking to foster connections and collaboration among individuals, churches, and ministries that align with Free Grace Theology. They may also address practical issues related to ministry, discipleship, and outreach within the framework of Free Grace Theology.
  1. Outreach and Engagement:
  • GES: GES primarily engages through publications, conferences, and resources aimed at promoting their understanding of Free Grace Theology and addressing theological questions.
  • FGA: FGA places a stronger emphasis on community and networking, providing a platform for Free Grace believers from various backgrounds to connect, learn from one another, and engage in cooperative efforts.

While both the Grace Evangelical Society and the Free Grace Alliance share a commitment to Free Grace Theology, their specific emphases and approaches distinguish them as two separate organizations within the broader landscape of evangelical Christianity.
